Hoosiers Take Care of Hawkeyes in 4-3 Victory

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– Indiana Women's Tennis earned three singles victories and the doubles point to have just enough in a 4-3 win over Iowa on Saturday.

The doubles point was close after Indiana won in No. 1 doubles and Iowa in No. 3 doubles, but the duo of Alexandra Staiculescu and Mila Meijic took the tiebreaker over Iowa, 6-3, to get the point.

Lara Schneider and Staiculescu won the first two singles matches to put Indiana up 3-0 in No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.

Iowa made some headway to make it 3-2 before Rose Hu clinched an Indiana win in No. 5 singles by winning 7-6, 6-3.

Up next, Indiana will have a short turnaround, facing No. 51 Nebraska tomorrow at home for an 11 a.m. start.
