Berggren Shoots Career Low at Butler Spring Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana closed out March with four individuals competing in the Butler Spring Invitational at the Highland Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
Junior Eric Berggren fired a career-low round of 69 (-1) in the final round to become the sixth different Hoosier to shoot under 70 this season. He finished tied for 15th overall in the event with a two-round total of 144 (+4).

Top Indiana Player: Eric Berggren – 144 (75-69; +4)
CHIP-INS
• Berggren tallied three total birdies in the round to post a team-low round of 1-under 69. His birdie conversions came on No. 1, No. 3 and No. 11. He finished tied for 15th overall and second among Big Ten golfers.
• Fifth-year senior Evan Yakubov shot a 3-over 73 in the second round and sunk birdie putts on No. 6, No. 12 and No. 16. He finished tied for 27th overall at 7-over 147.
• Sophomore Robbie Bender III added one birdie to the IU total on her final scorecard of 6-over 76. Freshman Ethan Chelf finished the tournament with a round of 8-over 78.
• All four Hoosiers competed as individuals.
