Indiana Drops in Team Standings During Second Round

FRENCH LICK, Ind. – The Indiana men's golf team fell to 10th overall after two rounds of play at the 2022 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship. The Hoosiers shot a 17-over 305 at The Pete Dye Course on Saturday.
Michigan State (577; -1) leads the conference through 36 holes. Illinois (578; +2), Purdue (582; +6), and Northwestern (584; +8) remain in the hunt with a round to play.

• Senior Mitch Davis bounced back in a big way to post Indiana's low score of the tournament through two rounds. He converted a team-best six birdies to finish the round at 3-under 69.
• Davis' second-round 69 matched Iowa's Ronan Kleu for the lowest round of the day. Davis is one of eight players to shoot a 69 or better in either of the first two rounds of the tournament.
• Sophomore Clay Merchent knocked down one birdie conversion on No. 12 on his way to a 3-over 75 in the second round.
• Both Davis and Merchant are tied atop the Indiana leaderboard through 36 holes of play after shooting a 2-over 146. They are tied for 12th overall in the individual standings.
• Senior Harry Reynolds shot a 7-over 79 in the second round, while fifth-year senior Ethan Shepherd shot a 10-over 82.
• Sophomore Drew Salyers shot a 10-over 82 in his second round that included two birdies.
