BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After giving up two runs in the top of the 11^th inning the Indiana softball team showed resiliency as Brittany Ford's three run double propelled the Hoosiers to a walk off 3-2 win over Illinois on Sunday at Andy Mohr Field.

Key Moments

Heather Johnson struck out her second batter in the fifth inning, followed by a diving catch by Aaliyah Andrews to capture the third out.
Illinois was able to get the first two runners on base to open extra innings with no outs. The next three batters included a force out, fly out, and a ground out to escape the scoring threat for the Hoosiers.
Following a grab from Cora Bassett, Brianna Copeland was able to tag out the runner at first, retiring the top of the ninth inning and leaving a runner stranded once again.
Illinois opened the eleventh inning with a leadoff double. With no outs, the Illini scored on a RBI single from Kailee Powell to give Illinois the first score of the game. Another single allowed Illinois to jump to a 2-0 lead. Natalie Foor replaced Johnson to not allow a hit with the next two batters, which included a strikeout to escape the inning.
Lindsey Warick led off the bottom of the 11^th inning with a single. A deep single into right field by Brooke Benson loaded the bases with no outs. Brittany Ford walked off the game with a hit into deep center driving in three runs to cap off a 3-2 victory.

Notes

Indiana improved to 26-19, 9-11 in the Big Ten.
Heather Johnson pitched 10.1 innings for the Hoosiers, recording two strikeouts.
Natalie Foor came in to pitch to finish the 11^th inning and recorded the win for the Hoosiers.
Indiana recorded five hits on the day.
The Hoosiers went to extra innings for the third time this season and won their second.

Up next the Hoosiers travel to Nebraska for the final weekend of the regular season, May 6-8 in Lincoln, Neb.
