Bloomington, Ind. – In an effort to enhance the opportunities for Indiana University student-athletes to maximize their name, image, and likeness opportunities, Opendorse today launched Indiana Marketplace.
Indiana Marketplace offers a central location for NIL opportunities involving IU student-athletes. It will enable Hoosier fans, businesses, and supporters who are interested in partnering with IU student-athletes with a home base to view student-athlete profiles and pitch NIL ideas directly to them. The dedicated marketplace will also provide the ability to book NIL deals and to provide secure payments.
"Well before the current NIL landscape started to take shape, our department was committed to supporting our student-athletes efforts in this area and to being a national leader in the NIL space," said IU Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Dolson. "The Indiana Marketplace is the latest example. This will not only be a tremendous asset to our student-athletes and their efforts to broaden their reach, but also to the many individuals and businesses looking to collaborate with our student-athletes who can now visit one central location. Opendorse has been an outstanding partner to our department and our students in the NIL arena, and we're excited to see what this new venture can do for our student-athletes."
The Indiana Marketplace offers a dynamic and robust platform for both student-athletes and third-parties. Those third-parties can visit, review the NIL profiles of IU's student-athletes, and then pitch, book, and securely compensate IU's student-athletes for mutually agreed upon NIL deals. IU's student-athletes, meanwhile, will benefit from not only the added exposure of the marketplace, but also the platform's ability to disclose the NIL activity to ensure it is compliant with all applicable rules.
