
Indiana Heads to 16th Annual OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's golf team is slated to compete in one of the premier fall tournaments in all of college golf at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational. The tournament will run from Sept. 16-18 at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Chicago.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• The tournament will feature 10 teams inside the initial GCAA Coaches Top-25 rankings, headlined by No. 2 North Carolina. No. 3 Florida, No. 5 Arizona State, No. 7 Oklahoma State, No. 9 Texas, No. 10 Pepperdine, No. 11 Illinois, No. 15 Stanford, No. 18 Florida State, No. 25 Arizona will also be in the competition.
• The last four national title winners (Texas (2022), Pepperdine (2021), Stanford (2019), and Oklahoma State (2018)) will all tee off as part of the 2022 Fighting Illini Invitational field.
• The field combined to tally 11 berths into the 2022 NCAA Regionals last May. Five of the eight programs closed the season in match play vying for the championship trophy at Grayhawk.
• Indiana tied for the team victory in 2008 in the event behind co-medalist Alex Martin (209; -1). The Hoosiers finished sixth among a highly-decorated field a season ago.
• The club is home to several premier events, having played host to the U.S. Amateur (2015), two U.S. Opens (1928, 2003), two PGA Championships (1925, 1961), a U.S. Senior Open (1997), plus five Western Opens (1920, 1927, 1933, 1968, 1971) and the 2020 BMW Championship.
