BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The non-conference portion of the volleyball season will conclude for Indiana this weekend with a three-game slate on the campus of Western Kentucky.
A third-consecutive road weekend will take the Hoosiers to Bowling Green in attempt to bounce back after a five-set loss to TCU finished a 1-2 weekend at last week's NC State Classic.
Steve Aird's group take a 5-4 record into a mini-tournament featuring the host-Hilltoppers, Texas A&M and Tennessee Tech.
This weekend will lead directly into a 20-game Big Ten slate to begin in two weeks' time with a trip to Penn State and Maryland.
The Hoosiers will get a pair of matches on Friday (Texas A&M and Tennessee Tech) and one on Saturday (Western Kentucky).
"Our intention building the schedule was to play really good teams," Aird said. "I think going into the Big Ten it's important to challenge yourself and play against quality opponents."
Breaking Down the Hoosiers
Last week's match with Western Carolina saw five Hoosiers record 10+ kills in a match for the first time in the Aird era.
Mady Saris (15), Candela Alonso-Corcelles (14), Morgan Geddes (12), Savannah Kjolhede (11) and Kaley Rammelsberg (11) were all in double-digits as the Hoosiers powered to a four-set victory.
Camryn Haworth was electric for IU during the three-game weekend, posting two double-doubles and 118 assists in Raleigh.
Geddes (13 kills vs. NC State) and Alonso-Corcelles (14 kills vs. TCU) posted career-highs over the course of the weekend on the offensive front.
Saris has taken her season's tally to 112 kills in nine matches with seven of those games going for double-digit kills.
With the return of Geddes to the rotation, IU's offensive attack now features a strong collection of outside hitters and a pair of fantastic middle blockers in Rammelsberg and Kjolhede.
Kjolhede's fantastic season has come on the offensive and defensive fronts. The Colleyville, Texas native is hitting .400 this year across 100 attempts.
She owns 55 kills and 26 blocks while playing every set this year.
Paula Cerame has served as the libero in every match, tallying 109 digs and 36 assists through nine matches this year.
The Opposition
Texas A&M (6-2)
• Texas A&M is off to a 6-2 start this season led by 2019 SEC Coach of the Year Bird Kuhn.
• The Aggies are paced by a pair of attackers who have each eclipsed the century mark in kills this season already. Freshman opposite Logan Lednicky (106) and graduate outside hitter Caroline Meuth pace a team that averages 12.29 kills per set.
Tennessee Tech (3-6)
• The Golden Eagles enter the weekend at 3-6 with wins over Evansville, Loyola Maryland and Ohio. The lone common opponent between the squads this year is Western Carolina.

Western Kentucky (9-1)
• One of the best teams at the mid-major level, Western Kentucky has proven to be a national presence in the Volleyball-crazed state of Kemtucly.
• The Hilltoppers own a 9-1 record with the lone loss to Louisville. Paige Briggs (126) and Lauren Matthews (120) lead the charge in kills.
