
Hoosiers Hit. 438 in Straight-Sets Victory over Tennessee Tech

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Even with a quick turnaround between matches during Friday's doubleheader, the Indiana Volleyball team (7-4, 0-0) kept humming along, defeating Tennessee Tech 3-0 in the nightcap at Diddle Arena.
The Hoosiers had an extremely efficient offensive night, even without star middle blocker Kaley Rammelsberg.
Melisa Ilter was inserted into the starting rotation and the Hoosiers didn't skip a beat to the tune of a 25-15, 25-12, 25-21 victory.
IU hit .438 on the evening, the 9th-best single game hitting percentage in program history and the highest since the Hoosiers hit .452 against UNLV in 2017.
Mady Saris and Candela Alonso-Corcelles were into double-digits in kills once again as IU won its second-consecutive game.
The Hoosiers will close out the weekend against No. 21 Western Kentucky tomorrow afternoon.
SET 1 (Indiana 25, Tennessee Tech 15)
• The Hoosiers jumped out to a 9-5 lead in the opening set following a run of kills by Morgan Geddes.
• A Tennessee Tech error and a Morgan Geddes kill forced the Golden Eagles into a timeout with the Hoosiers holding a commanding 18-12 lead.
• IU used a 7-1 run to blow the lead open in the first set, ultimately winning 25-15 behind four kills from Mady Saris and Morgan Geddes.
SET 2 (Indiana 25, Tennessee Tech 12)
• Sparked by kills from Melisa Ilter and Candela Alonso-Corcelles, IU used a 6-0 run to build a healthy 12-6 advantage in the second set.
• Candela Alonso-Corcelles piled up a pair of kills around a timeout to give IU a 23-11 advantage in the second frame.
• Emily Fitzner finished off the first set with a service ace to send the Hoosiers up two games.
SET 3 (Indiana 25, Tennessee Tech 21)
• Paula Cerame served five-consecutive points with back-to-back kills from Mady Saris helping IU out to a 11-9 advantage in the third set.
• Kills from Melisa Ilter and Candela Alonso-Corcelles gave IU a 19-14 lead and forced a Tennessee Tech timeout deep in the set.
• Mady Saris closed out the straight-sets victory with a massive kill.
