Hoosiers Fall 3-0 on the Road against Minnesota

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's soccer (2-1-6, 0-1-1) falls 3-0 against Minnesota (5-4-1, 1-1-0) Thursday evening at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.
KEY MOMENTS
• Senior midfielder Megan Wampler saw the Hoosiers first opportunity after a free kick at the top of the penalty arc. Wampler's shot went high to the top center before the Gopher's goalkeeper Megan Plaschko snatched it.
• Junior forward Jen Blitchok had a good look in the 37th minute on an IU throw in. Blitchok headed the ball down and sent it to the bottom right of the net before Plaschko scooped it up.
• Despite an even score and leading 2-1 in shots on goal, the Hoosiers could not get in front of the Gophers as they scored three goals in the second half.
• Minnesota's Gabbie Cesarone scored the first goal of the night off a long cross in the 67th minute.
• The Golden Gophers netted two more back-to-back in the 75th minute from Izzy Brown and the 76th minute from Christa Van Loon to extend the lead.
NOTABLES
• Indiana set a new program record for longest streak without conceding a goal. Minnesota's first goal of the night in the 67th minute ended the streak at 788 minutes.
• Freshman Ava Akeel saw her second career start as a Hoosier.
