BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After nearly four weeks away from home, the Indiana Volleyball team returns to Wilkinson Hall on Wednesday evening to begin a three-game homestand.
Steve Aird and the Hoosiers (8-6, 1-1) will welcome Iowa (6-7, 0-2) for the conference home opener in Bloomington as a part of the Big Ten Network Wednesday Night slate (7:00 PM EDT).
The Hoosiers are 10-28 in home conference openers since the Big Ten began a full conference slate 1983.
IU beat Michigan State in straight sets last year to begin the Big Ten season and is 2-2 in home-conference openers under Aird with wins in 2018 (Northwestern) and 2021.
Connor Onion and Emily Ehman will have the call for Wednesday night's match in the first of three games for the Hoosiers on the Big Ten Network this year.
The Hoosiers:
The Hoosiers split a pair of matches on the East Coast to begin the Big Ten season with a defeat to No. 9 Penn State and a win over Maryland.
Two matches await IU this week with Iowa on Wednesday evening and No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday night.

Even with the absence of Kaley Rammelsberg, the Hoosiers have had a number of athletes step up to fill the production in the time being.
Morgan Geddes has moved over to the middle while Melisa llter slides into the right side. Grae Gosnell and Isa Lopez have both been productive in the back row with a number of key digs.
A prolific piece in the back row, Paula Cerame is No. 5 in the Big Ten in digs (178) and has been in double digits on nine occasions this year.
The Opposition:
Iowa (6-7)
The Hawkeyes are led by Jim Barnes who took over the program on December 28th, 2021, following head coaching stints at Tulane, Baylor, Wyoming and Lamar.
Michelle Urquhart and Amiya Jones lead Iowa offensively with 126 and 120 kills apiece during this season. Mari Hinkle is stellar in the back row as the Iowa libero. She leads the Big Ten in digs with 206 including 4.68 per set.
