Indiana Ready for Friday Finals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Indiana women's swimming and diving will have 18 individual finalists on Friday night (Feb.17) in the third of four finals sessions at the 2023 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Canham Natatorium.
Hoosier swimmers 15 earned finals appearance during Friday morning's preliminary session, with five in championship finals, nine in consolation heats and one in a C final. IU added two A finalists and a consolation finalist in the 3-meter dive. Indiana will also swim the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Sophomore Anna Peplowski made her presence felt in the morning session, earning top-three seeds in two events. Peplowski was the top qualifier in the 200-yard freestyle, touching in 1:44.49. Later on, she finished third in the 100 backstroke with a 52.34. Mackenzie Looze and Mariah Denigan (400 IM) and Noelle Peplowski (100 breast) will also swim championship heats.
Indiana earned four finalists in the 400 IM, and 200 free, three finalists in the 100 breast and two apiece in the 100 fly and 100 back.
On the 3-meter board, last night's 1-meter champion, junior Anne Fowler (338.60), and sophomore Skyler Liu (331.20) placed second and fourth, respectively, in the prelim. Sophomore Megan Carter (291.15) entered the B final with a 12th-place performance Friday afternoon.
