BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - A perfect afternoon is on deck for the Indiana baseball home opener against Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday (Feb. 21) at Bart Kaufman Field with plenty of sunshine forecast for the 4 p.m. first pitch. The Hoosiers (1-2) are coming off of a series finale victory over Auburn on the opening weekend of the college baseball season, while the Redhawks (0-3) dropped all three games of its series at Georgia Tech.

Scouting the Opponent
- Miami (Ohio) is coming off an 0-3 weekend at Georgia Tech, where the Redhawks scored 24 over the three games and lost a one-run contest on Saturday to the Yellow Jackets.
- Hudson Leach led the pitching staff with six innings of shutout relief on Saturday. He entered with no outs and the score at 5-1 in the third inning. He stranded an inherited runner and then worked the next five innings with just two base runners allowed to let the offense nearly complete the comeback in a 5-4 loss.
- Five Redhawk hitters posted multiple RBIs on the weekend, with Stephen Krause (5) and Ryland Zaborowski (4) leading the way.
- Krause led the way with a .571 average (4-of-7) with two doubles, one home run and one walk. The redshirt-senior appeared in all three games, but did not start one.
- Three of Zaborowski's five hits were home runs, as Miami (Ohio) hit nine homer runs on the weekend.
Series Notes
- Indiana and Miami (Ohio) will meet for the 81st time in program history. IU owns a 42-38 edge in the all-time series which began in 1931.
- The two teams met twice last season, with Indiana winning, 15-2, at Bart Kaufman Field on March 1, 2022, and Miami (Ohio) earning a 9-7 win in Oxford on April 19, 2022.
- Seven of the last nine meetings have come at McKie Field at Hayden Park on the Miami University campus.
- Over the last 25 meetings, Miami (Ohio) owns a slim 14-11 edge, with Indiana winning five of the last six.
- The longest winning streak in the series belongs to Indiana at 11 games from 1955-69. Ten of those 11 games were played in Bloomington.
