Indiana Women’s Closes out Home Non-Con Slate with Western Michigan, Belmont

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis (6-3) is set to close out their non-conference home slate with Western Michigan on Saturday and Belmont on Sunday at the IU Tennis Center.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana leads the series against Western Michigan 16-0.
• In their last match up, the Hoosiers defeated the Broncos 5-0 on Feb. 12, 2022.
• IU will face Belmont for the first time in program history.
STATS
• Both matches can be viewed and followed using Playsight video and live stats.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Hoosiers went 1-1 in their trip out west. They dropped their first match 4-2 against Utah but bounced back with a 5-2 win over Colorado.
• The Utes would clinch the win with four points, but the squads would play out the rest of the match. Graduate Saby Nihalani earned a win at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 while sophomore Lara Schneider earned the victory in the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-7 (1-7), 7-5.
• The buffaloes would win the No. 2 doubles match, 6-0, but the Hoosiers' redshirt-junior duo Rose Hu and Alexandra Staiculescu would even it out with a No. 3 doubles win, 6-3.
• Nihalani and Schneider would earn the doubles point with a dominating tiebreaker performance, 7-6 (7-1).
• In the singles round, Colorado would pick up the first point in the No. 4 singles match. Indiana would collect the next two points in No. 2 and 3 singles to take a 3-1 lead. Schneider would clinch the last point after a win in three sets in the No. 1 singles spot, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2.

• Indiana's No. 1 double duo Schneider and Nihalani are 6-1 on the season as they extended their win streak to four.
