IU Completes Opening Weekend at Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Indiana rowing closed out a two-day stay at the Oak Ridge Invitational on Sunday (March 19). The Hoosiers raced in three sessions, with two on Saturday and a morning session on Sunday.
"The biggest thing for us this weekend was learning something from each race and carrying it over to the next one," junior Ellie Pedersen, stroke for the Varsity 4, said. "There is still a lot of work to do, and I'm looking forward to seeing our team develop as we inch closer to the Big Ten Championships."

KEY MOMENTS
- Indiana's Varsity 4 boat raced to victory on Sunday with a six-second edge over Alabama and almost 15-second edge over Clemson.
- IU's 2V8 finished the runner-up in two of three races this weekend. On Sunday, the crew was second to Alabama by just four seconds.
- The Varsity 8 started the weekend just under five seconds behind Duke, who finished as the No. 15 team in the country last year. The Hoosiers finished in front of Notre Dame and Wisconsin.
- The Novice 8 finished second in all three of its races.
