On racing in cold and rainy conditions…
"We had a pretty strong tailwind. Tailwinds are pretty nice because they give us a little boost, and allows us to race a little quicker, but that means you really have to stay sharp. We really just had to tack along and be disciplined and with us to handle the weather."
On what really stood out about the team's performance today…
"This morning at practice, we made the decision to come back from break and a long week of training to stay focused and go for the course record. We came up short, but it gave us something to really chase after and I think we had a really good intentional mindset shift, so we really went after it this afternoon."
Junior Lili Toledano (2V8)
On being back at home at the Dale England Rowing Center…
"It feels really good. We practice on Lake Lemon every day, so it hits close to home to have other teams come and race us, and get after it."
On an extra edge to get the win today…
"Our Coach Grace (Lindberg) always tells us that 'We don't row for the name on our chest, we row for each other' our boat talked about that right before we started the race. We just worked together and that's why we won."
