Indiana Women’s Tennis Begins Big Ten Play Against Northwestern

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis (8-3) host Northwestern in their Big Ten home opener at the IU Tennis Center on Sunday morning.
SERIES HISTORY
• Northwestern leads the series 31-21 all time winning the last 22 matchups since 2005.
• In their last match up, Indiana fell 7-0 in Evanston.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Hoosiers defeated Belmont last Saturday after a dominant performance in singles matches, winning all but No. 3 singles that went into a super tiebreaker. Freshman Nicole Teodosescu got the first point for the team, quickly winning 6-0, 6-0 in No. 5 singles.
• Redshirt-junior Mila Mejic and graduate Saby Nihalani also had impressive outings both winning 6-4, 6-1.
• Graduate Lauren Lemonds was the one to win the match for the Hoosiers, bringing in the fourth point. Lara Schneider followed right behind, winning 6-1, 7-6 (7-2).
ABOUT THE HOOSIERS
• The Hoosiers improved to 8-3 on the season.
• Indiana clinches their fifth win at home this season to hold a 5-1 record at the IU Tennis Center.
• Indiana's No. 1 double duo Schneider and Nihalani are 8-1 on the season as they extended their win streak to six.
• Nihalani improved to 7-1 in the No. 2 singles spot this season. She holds a win streak of four going against the Wildcats.
