Indiana Men’s Tennis Falls at No. 47 Nebraska, 5-2

LINCOLN, Neb. –––– Indiana Men's Tennis fought hard in the Cornhusker state, but ultimately fell short on Friday in a 5-2 loss to No. 47 Nebraska at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
Indiana got off to a good start in doubles play when Patrick Fletchall and Ilya Tiraspolsky won at No. 1 doubles, 6-4.
The win for Fletchall and Tiraspolsky improved their record as a doubles duo to 10-2 this year.
The Hoosiers narrowly lost at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, though, to give Nebraska the doubles point and a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
From there, Nebraska won at No. 6, 1 and 2 singles to clinch the team victory.
The match was played all the way out and Tirapsolky and Sam Landau picked up wins in their singles spots. Tiraspolsky won at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (7-2), 7-5. Landau won at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (13-11).
With the loss, Indiana's season record drops to 12-9 and 1-3 in conference play.
Indiana will be back in action on Sunday for another road match. The Hoosiers will face Wisconsin at 1 p.m. in Madison.
