Cross Country to Race in the John McNichols Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana cross country is set to run in the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.

The Hoosiers will compete against 23 teams including 14 Division I universities: Anderson (Ind.), Bellarmine, Belmont, Central Georgia Tech, Danville Area CC, Dayton, Evansville, Fisk, Indiana, Indiana State, Kansas State, Maine, Milwaukee, Morton College, Pikeville, Purdue, Rose-Hulman, SEMO, SIUE, Southern Indiana, UT-Martin, Truman State, Vincennes
Indiana will have 10 men running while the women will have 11 participants in the race.
Phoebe Bates leads the women's squad after she won the Redhawk Rumble and posted a personal best of 17:44.71 in the 5K race.
Abe Eckman took the lead at the Redhawk Rumble with a third-place finish in the men's 6K with a time of 18:12.26.
Indiana last competed at Indiana State in 2021 where graduate Skylar Stidam finished third with a time of 24:28.6. Keelan Grant was the next Hoosier across the line as he clocked a time of 25:04.7 to come in 11th followed by Tristan Forsythe who secured a time of 26:18.0 finishing 32nd.
