
Indiana Track and Field Travels to Boston, Louisville

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana track and field will split up this weekend for competition as they look to improve on their marks for the indoor season. The distance runners will head to a competitive John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston, Mass. the pole vaulters and jumpers compete against good competition at Louisville's PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational.

Austin Haskett ran a sub-four-minute mile club after he ran a time of 3:58.59 in his first race of the season. He time also marks the No. 10 spot in program history. On day two of the Indiana Invitational, Haskett set another personal best on the weekend with a time of 8:08.4 in the 3k.
Mariah Wehrle was locked in for the women's mile, running a personal best time of 4:51.16. Freshman Lily Myers finished third in the race with a time of 4:55.98. Wehrle added another win on the weekend in the 3k with a time of 9:40.09.
Skylar Stidam won the 5000-meter race with a time of 14:28.83.
The men's mid-distance group swept the 800 meters with Camden Marshall winning the event with a time of 1:49.61. Parker Raymond finished second in the event with Keelan Grant, Jaylen Castillo and Martin Segurola rounding out the top-five marks.
Maddie Russin led the Hoosiers in the 800 meters with a season best time of 2:09.37.
Field
Jessica Mercier holds the 10th best mark in the nation after she cleared a height of 4.27m/14-0.00 in the pole vault.
Grayson Rolen won the High Jump event, tying his season best performance of 2.04m/6-08.25.
Fernandez-Sola was victorious in the Long Jump competition with a season-best mark of 6.24m/20-5.75. She is currently ranked No. 16 in the nation.
Mahogany Jenkins placed second in the High Jump. She cleared a height of 1.69m/5-06.25.
The Hoosier Lineup:
Indiana jumps assistant coach Mike Erb provides some insight on what his group looks to focus on at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational this weekend.
"The goal for this meet is to establish consistency and improve on our technical approach against some great competition," Erb said. "This meet will help us improve their marks to put us in a good position ahead of the post season."
He will bring seven athletes that will compete across the High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump events.
Jumps:
Serena Bolden will race in the 60 meters and Triple Jump alongside Mahogany Jenkins in Louisville this weekend. Jenkins is also set to compete in the High Jump competition alongside Taylor Schoonveld.
Paola Fernandez-Sola will compete in the Long Jump in addition to Bolden. Alex Smith will represent the Hoosiers on the men's side.
Deepak Laungani and Grayson Rolen will compete in the High Jump against Louisville as they look to improve their marks this season.
Pole Vault:
Nathan Stone and Riley Johnston will be competing for the Hoosiers in the men's pole vault on day one of the meet.
Jessica Mercier looks to stay consistent and improve her mark in the pole vault against solid competition.
Distance and Mid-Distance:
Amelia Dodds and Maddie Russin will compete in the 800 meters on day two.
Grace Tyson, Lily Myers, Mariah Wehrle, Katelyn Winton will run the 3k with Tyson, Phoebe Bates and Tori Schmidt running in the 5k race.
On the men's side, Jaylen Castillo, Nico Colchico, Parker Raymond and Keefer Soehngen will run the 800 meter in the first event of the weekend. They will also run their first DMR of the season.
