Marshall Crushes Mile School Record to Cap Day One of the Windy City Invitational

CHICAGO, Ill. – Junior Mid-distance runner Camden Marshall crushed the 19-year-old men's mile record (3:56.44) set by Sean Jefferson in 2005 after running a time of 3:55.96 in the final event of day one at the Windy City Invitational.
Marshall set a new personal record and now leads the Big Ten in the Mile and holds the 14th fastest time in the nation.
Pole Vaulter Riley Johnston also had himself a day on the runway. He vaulted a personal best height of 5.16m/16-11.00 to win the event.
Kenisha Phillips won the long sprint 400-meter race with a time of 52.82. Vincente Graiani had a great race on the men's side with a personal best time of 48.59 to finish fourth.
It was a tight race in the 60 Meter finals. Antonio Laidler finished third with the photo finish, tying his personal best time of 6.67.
John Colquitt ran the fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles to advance to tomorrow's semifinals round. He tied his personal best time of 8.10 to win the event.
In the circle, Hunter Smith throws the weight a distance of 18.25m/59-10.50 for a new personal best.
Up next, Indiana will return to the track tomorrow as they wrap up the weekend in the Windy City.
