Indiana Men’s Tennis Takes down Rival Purdue, 4-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– Indiana Men's Tennis opened up conference play strong, taking down Purdue, 4-2, Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Center.
Indiana would open up the day strong in doubles play. Facundo Yunis and Luc Boulier would open up doubles with a win at No. 3 doubles, 6-1. Michael Andre and Ilya Tiraspolsky would follow up with a win at No. 1 doubles, 7-6 (7-1), to take the lead heading into singles play.
In Singles play, Sam Landau would strike first with a win at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Ilya Tiraspolsky would put the Hoosiers in a position to clinch the match with a win at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
Michael Andre would secure the match victory for Indiana with an emphatic win at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.
With the win, Indiana now holds a 12-4 record on the season and a 1-0 record in conference play.
Indiana will be back in action tomorrow, March 24, at 3 p.m, as the Hoosiers host Cornell to close out the weekend.
