IUTF Opens Day One in Lexington with Three Event Wins, Seven Personal Bests

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Indiana track and field wraps up day one at the Jim Green Invitational with three event wins and seven personal bests.
The throwers had a great day in the ring with an event winner and season best performance from Sean Mockler. He threw a distance of 67.27m/220-8 to start the weekend off.
Tyler Reyna (55.28m/181-4) and Hunter Smith (53.92m/176-11) each had big time personal best performances in the Hammer throwing the weight over two feet further than their PR's.
Martin Segurola finished third in the 1500m with a personal best time of 3:45.68. Freshman Lily Myers also improved her time in the event as she led the women to a top-10 finish with a personal best time of 4:34.46.
Shanna Esters had a season-best performance with a mark of 37.57m/123-3 for a top-five finish.
The Hoosiers made a splash in the 3000m Steeplechase. Katelyn Winton set a personal best in the event as she broke through 11 minutes with a time of 10:59.77. On the men's side, Cole Raymond ran his first steeple with a time of 9:21.38.
Antonio Laidler ran the fastest time of the day in the 200m dash. He won the event with a time of 20.61.
Up next, Indiana will return to the track as they close out the weekend on the final day of the Jim Green Invitational.
