Split Weekend Ahead for Indiana Track & Field

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana track and field will compete in Austin, Texas at the Texas Invitational (April 26-27) and in Terre Haute, Ind. at the Sycamore Open (April 27) for their final road meets of the regular season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers competed at the Jim Green Invitational at Kentucky last weekend. The throws group made improvements on the weekend. Sean Mockler earned a season-best mark in the Hammer while teammates Tyler Reyna and Hunter Smith set personal bests in the event. Drew Franklin added another personal best in the discus on day two of the Invite.
The distance group concluded the weekend with personal best marks. Katelyn Winton and Cole Raymond set PRs in the 3000m Steeplechase while Lily Myers and Martin Segurola improved their times in the 1500m. Claire Overfelt (5000m), Winton (3000mS) and Segurola (800m, 1500m) also earned wins in their respective events.
Antonio Laidler won the 200m dash and finished second in the 100m. Kenisha Phillips had a good race in the 400m to finish second in the event.
At Wake Forest, Camden Marshall led the Hoosiers in the 800m Invite with a personal best time of 1:46.23. He clocked the third fastest time in program history and currently ranks seventh in the nation. In the men's 5000m Invite, Skylar Stidam ran a personal best time of 13:50.65, shaving over a minute and a half off his previous time.
ON DECK
The sprints and throwers will compete in-state on the one-day Sycamore Open meet. Bridget Beyer and Emily Herndon will compete in the Hammer throw. Tyler Reyna and Hunter Smith will double up in the Hammer and the discus along with Drew Franklin. Ray Brodie, Jaylen Grimes, Gage Pratt and Tripti Tiwari will compete in the sprints.
The rest of the group heads to the Lone Star state to compete on the track and field.
