BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana track and field concluded the Crossroads of America Invitational on Friday (January 24) at the Fall Creek Pavilion with several personal bests through the two day meet.
"I'm really happy with how the team performed today across all of the events at the host of the Big Ten championships (Fall Creek Pavilion) in a few weeks," said associate head coach Eric Heins.
"The momentum that the team has right now is heading in the right direction. We capped off with a win by Veronica (Hargrave) in the 800 (meter). The women's 4x400 (Kristina Vinci, Morgan Snow, Katelyn Henselmeier, Amelia Dodds) almost set the school record. They really seemed to be competing well."
Mahogany Jenkins and Kelly Moran started the day for Indiana finishing third (12.69m/41-7.75) and ninth (12.16m/39-10.75) respectively in the women's triple jump.
On the track, Trelee Banks (6.82) and Tamer Saleh (6.84) sprinted to fourth and fifth place respectively in the 60 meter finals.
Maddie Rocchio recorded her first sub-five mile as a Hoosiers with a time of 4:58.10 in the women's mile.
Veronica Hargrave (2:09.13) gave the Hoosiers their second win of the weekend, taking first in the women's 800 meter race.
Seth Brosseau had a great showing in the men's shot put. He sixth overall with a distance of 17.54m/57-6.5 in the event.
The weekend concluded with all three 4x400 meter relay teams finishing in the top five on both sides of the event. The quartet of Ryann Parrish, Kylee Poulton, Nola Somers Glenn, and Cambell Wamsley (3:47.33) Indiana finished fifth while the quartet of Kristina Vincic, Morgan Snow, Katelyn Henselmeier, and Amelia Dodds (3:38.89) finished third.
