Meet Central: IUTF Travels to Meyo Invitational and Midwest Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana track and field program will travel back north to compete in the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. and the Midwest Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. The meets are set to begin on Friday, January 30 and will conclude on Saturday, February 1.
The Hoosiers will run multiple meets for the first time this season, competing against 39 teams over the weekend including several Big Ten opponents across 35 events. The women's long jump will start the day in South Bend at 3 p.m., while the women's weight throw will start the Midwest Classic at 5 p.m.
Indiana has entered 58 athletes in a combined 35 events on the men's and women's side across both meets.

THE HOOSIER LINEUP
Sprints and Hurdles:
Olivia Gee will start the track events for the Hoosiers in the 60-meter hurdle trials in Indianapolis.
The men's 60-meter dash will include the trio of freshmen Christian Woodson alongside graduate Tamer Saleh and Dezmone Starks. Lyric Steele is also entered on the women's side.
The 200 meter is stacked on both sides for the Hoosiers. Gee, along with Jania Hodges, Kiera Davis, and Kylee Poulton will look to set the tone for the Hoosiers. Woodson, Daquan Tate, Novo Onovwerosuoke, Cameron Mullens, Saleh, Starks, and Otto De St Jeor will race on the men's side.
Continuing with the sprinters, Poulton, Ryann Parrish, and Morgan Snow are entered in the 400 meters. Freshman duo of Mullens and Tate will look to take the event on the men's side.
Distance & Mid-Distance:
The Hoosiers will have plenty of competition in the 800-meter run. Freshmen Catie McCabe will be the lone competitor in Indianapolis, as Amelia Dodds, Veronica Hargrave, Maddie Russin, and Nola Somers Glenn will compete in South bend. They will be joined by Keefer Soehngen, Matt Kim, and Andrew Mangum on the men's side.
The mile-run will feature several Hoosiers in both meets. Jessica Hegedus will run in Indianapolis along with Cole Raymond, Nate Killeen, and Caden Click on the men's side. Lily Myers and Taylor Fox will be joined by Nolan Satterfield, Aidan Lord and Martin Segurola on the men's side in South Bend.
Ines Herault will compete in the 3000-meter run in Indianapolis along with Caden Click, Cole Raymond, and Aaron Lord. In South Bend, Maddie Rocchio, Mariah Wehrle, and Katelyn Winton will compete in the event.
The Hoosiers will be featured in the 5000-meter run in South Bend. Claire Overfelt will look to take the women's side, while Dylon Nalley and Tony Provenzano will compete on the men's side.
In the 4x400-meter relay, Indiana will compete one quartet on the women's side and the men's in the Meyo Invitational.
Jumps:
Junior Kelly Moran will compete in the long jump and will be joined by senior Mahogany Jenkins in the triple jump. Jenkins will be one of three Hoosiers in the high jump along with freshman Josie Page and junior Taylor Schoonveld.
On the men's side, freshman Vince Davero and junior Alex Smith will compete in the long jump, while sophomore Deepak Laungani will compete in the high jump.
Throws:
The throws group looks to continue their strong season heading into the weekend in Indianapolis.
Freshman Hannah Alexander will be joined by sophomore Bridget Beyer in the weight throw. Alexander will also join Junior Makayla Hunter in the shot put event.
The men's squad will also see Nikolaus Sidirenios, Tyler Reyna, and Hunter Smith in the men's weight throw. Drew Franklin, Caleb Smith, Dane Sebert, and Seth Brosseau will all throw the shot for the Hoosiers.
