BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – For the first time in over three weeks, the Indiana volleyball team (14-3, 5-2 B1G) will return to Wilkinson Hall for a home match. IU has played five-straight games away from its home court but will relish the chance to play the next three contests in Bloomington to close out the month of October.
The Hoosiers took a big swing on Thursday (Oct. 16) by playing a designated home match against No. 12 Purdue at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Over 6,450 people packed the basketball arena to support the growing sport and one of the game's biggest rivalries. Purdue outlasted IU, 3-1, in a tough battle on the Big Ten Network.
Senior opposite hitter Avry Tatum, who has given everything she's had for IU in her three years in Bloomington, is just six kills away from reaching 1,000 for her career. On Sunday, she's set to play in the 100th match of her college tenure. She had 15 kills in Thursday's defeat and is hitting .372 on the season.
IU will look to break a string of consecutive losses on Sunday (Oct. 19) afternoon against Ohio State. The Hoosiers have won back-to-back games against the Buckeyes (2023, 2024) in Bloomington. The match will be carried on the Big Ten Network at Noon ET with Sloane Martin and Camryn Irwin on the call.

Stat and Trends
• Senior opposite hitter Avry Tatum has the highest attacking percentage (.372) of any conference player averaging at least 3.40 kills per set. She has been the most efficient pin hitter in the Big Ten this season and has gone for double-digit kills on 12 occasions in 2025.
• IU's offense has been especially efficient this season. With a fast-tempo ball to the pins, the Hoosiers have been hard to stop when their passing is strong. IU's third in the conference and top 10 in the country in hitting percentage (.297).
Notable
A B1G START: Indiana began the conference slate at 5-0 before dropping its first contest at Michigan State. It was the best start to Big Ten play in program history and has included four road victories. IU wrapped up a four-match road swing by winning three contests, including road wins at No. 17 USC and No. 24 UCLA.
CLOSING IN ON 1K: Senior opposite hitter Avry Tatum will have a crack at a massive milestone in her college career this weekend. She is just six kills away from reaching 1,000 career kills. She will have the opportunity to hit the mark on Sunday in what will be her 100th career appearance in college.
HOME ACTION: IU played five of its first six Big Ten games on the road. The Hoosiers will return to Wilkinson Hall on Sunday afternoon against Ohio State on the Big Ten Network. Over the last three seasons, IU is 25-7 at Wilkinson Hall. IU has won 16-straight home contests against unranked opposition.
VICKY G GROWS UP: Freshman middle blocker Victoria Gray had a career match on Thursday against No. 12 Purdue. She provided 10 kills (.643 hitting percentage) against the Boilers. She is the first IU middle blocker since September of 2024 to have at least 10 kills in a match.
CANDE IS A WINNER: Senior outside hitter Candela Alonso-Corcelles has been a big winner during her time in Bloomington. The Hoosiers have 66 overall wins and 33 in conference play since she joined the team in 2022. She's just six Big Ten wins away from becoming the winningest player in league play in program history.
JAGER LEADS THE CHARGE: Freshman outside hitter Jaidyn Jager has been a fantastic addition to the IU program this year. She leads all Big Ten freshmen with 3.41 kills per set and will have a chance to be the league's Freshman of the Year. She has 10+ kills in 13 of IU's 17 matches this season.
FLINGING THE ROCK: Freshman setter Teodora Kričković has settled in nicely to her role with the team this year. She is second in the conference in assists per set (10.86) and is running a very fast offense. The Hoosiers have hit .250 or better in 14 of the 17 contests this year.
MORE FROM T: Freshman setter Teodora Kričković has 641 assists on the season. She's just 98 assists from breaking the IU single season freshman rally-era assists record. On the year, she has more assists per set (10.86) than any other freshman setter in the entire country.
CHAR DEBUTS: Freshman outside hitter Charlotte Vinson made her collegiate debut on Sunday, Oct. 12 at Michigan State, completing a long journey back to the court. She was on life support in spring of 2024 with toxic shock syndrome but has fully recovered and is expected to be a big part of IU's future plans.
BALANCED OFFENSE: IU is the only team with multiple players averaging 3.40 kills per set this year in the Big Ten. In fact, no other team has more than one. The Hoosiers have all three pin hitters providing 3.40 or more kills. Senior outside hitter Candela Alonso-Corcelles leads with 3.47 kills per set.
TIGHT SERIES: These two teams have played six-straight contests that lasted at least four sets. The last sweep in the series came when the Buckeyes won in straight sets in Columbus in 2021. IU's last 3-set win against Ohio State came in head coach Steve Aird's first season in Bloomington (2018).
ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY: IU will look to match its win total from last season (15) by just October 19th. The Hoosiers haven't won at least 15 games in 4-straight years since All-American middle blocker Ashley Benson was in town (2007-10). IU is chasing just its seventh season with at least 20 wins in program history.
