Thanksgiving Week Action Starts Tuesday At FGCU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Hoosiers start off Thanksgiving week action with a non-conference matchup with Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday afternoon. Tipoff at Alico Arena is set for 1 p.m. ET.

FGCU is under the direction of first year head coach Rania Harmon, a former Iowa assistant coach, and are 1-2 headed into Tuesday's matchup. Three players are averaging double figures with junior guard Karina Gordon's 12.0 points leading the way. Junior guard Sinai Douglas adds 10.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per outing and fifth year forward Nay Staton averages 10.0 points per game and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.

- Redshirt sophomore guard Lenée Beaumont has been hot for the Hoosiers in the past two games with back-to-back 20-point performances. She has led Indiana in scoring in wins over Florida State (23 points) and Butler (21 points) while going 7-for-8 from the 3-point line in the two games combined. For the season, the Lisle, Ill. native is averaging 13.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 55.8 percent from the floor.
- The Hoosiers are leading the Big Ten in 3-point field goal percentage defense through the first five games of the season. Opponents are shooting just 20.5 percent from beyond the arc and averaging just 3.4 triples per game against the Hoosiers stingy defense.
- Senior guard Shay Ciekzi continues to lead Indiana in points per game through the first five games of the season. The Buffalo, N.Y. native is averaging 21.0 points per game and currently holding a 50-40-90 average from the field. She shoots 51.4 percent from the floor, 46.2 percent from the 3-point line and 90 percent at the free throw line. She is third in the Big Ten in scoring. Ciezki was named the Big Ten Player of the Week after opening weekend (Nov. 10).
- Sophomore forward Zania Socka-Nguemen also impressed in her first five games as a Hoosier, recording a 69.9 field goal percentage, averaging 14.4 points and 9.5 rebounds while recording up three double-doubles. Her three double-doubles ranks fifth in the nation while her field goal percentage (69.6) is sixth overall.
