Indiana Men’s Defeats Middle Tennessee for First Road Win of the Season

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. –––– Indiana Men's Tennis won their first road match of the season in thrilling fashion, defeating Middle Tennessee, 4-3, At the Adam's Tennis Complex.
For the sixth straight time this season, Indiana opened up the match strong and secured the doubles point. Facundo Yunis & Braeden Gelletich would strike first, taking the win at No. 3 doubles, 6-2. Sam Scherer & Matteo
Antonescu would follow up with a win at No. 2 doubles, 6-4, to give Indiana the lead going into singles play.
In singles play, freshman Braeden Gelletich would claim the first singles win for IU, taking the victory at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4). Deacon Thomas would deliver a big win for Indiana with a win at No. 3 singles, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-4, to put the Hoosiers in a position to clinch the match.
Sophomore Ben Pomeranets would claim the match victory for Indiana with his win at No. 4 singles in three sets, 6-3, 6-7(3-7), 7-5.
With the win, Indiana moves to 6-0 on the season.
Indiana will be back in action Friday, Feb. 14, when the Hoosiers host their first of three matches throughout the weekend against Drake. The match will begin at 5 p.m.
