Hoosiers Prepare for Ranked Match at Home

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––––– After a strong start to the season last weekend, where the Hoosiers defeated both Ball State and Butler at home 7-0, Indiana looks to capitalize on their momentum when it hosts No. 7 Mississippi State in Bloomington.
The match will take place at 12 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, at the IU Tennis Center.
Similar to the Hoosiers, Mississippi State enters the match with a team record of 2-0, having defeated Lamar 6-1 and SMU 5-2 in Dallas last weekend. The Bulldogs boast four players: Peter Jovanovic, Bryan Hernandez Cortes, Mario Martinez Serrano, and Benito Sanchez Martinez, all ranked by ITA in the top 60 for singles.
For the Hoosiers, Facundo Yunis shined last Saturday, winning both matches in the No. 1 singles spot in straight sets, as well as earning a 6-2 doubles victory against Butler with teammate Braeden Gelletich.
