PURDUE SERIES
Indiana and Purdue will match up in a dual meet for the 101st time this Friday. The Hoosiers lead the all time series 62-35-3, although Purdue has been victorious in the previous four. Indiana and the Boilermakers met for the first time in 1914 -- a match in which IU would win 6-0. The Hoosiers would win the first 15 matches of the series, which is the longest win streak for the series (1914-27).
Last year the Boilermakers won a close battle 18-16 in Bloomington. The last time the two schools met in West Lafayette, Purdue won 28-13 in 2013. Indiana has not won in West Lafayette since 2006 (24-13).
2014-15 MATCH
Friday's match will be the last Big Ten match of the 2014-15 season, as the other 12 schools have completed regular season Big Ten competition.
NATIONALLY-RANKED HOOSIERS
Two Hoosiers are ranked amongst the country's elite this week (InterMat/WIN Magazine):
#6/6 Taylor Walsh (165 lbs)
#15/13 Nate Jackson (174 lbs)

PIN KING
Redshirt senior Taylor Walsh is continuting his impressive pinning ways. After leading the country last season and setting an Indiana single-season school record with 26 pins, Walsh has 20 pins this season. With 20 pins, Walsh has the second most in a Hoosier season and is currently the Division I leader. He only trails himself - 26 (2014) for most in a Hoosier season.
After three wins this past weekend, Walsh now has 123 career wins. This moved the 165-pounder into a tie for sixth place on the all-time Indiana wins list. He needs two more to break into the top-five. Current Indiana Assistant Coach Matt Powless is fifth (124).
This season Walsh became Indiana's all-time pin leader. At the end of the 2013-14 season, Walsh was tied with Viktor Sveda (1999-2002) with 47 pins. In his first bout of this season, Walsh captured the record and is only expanding his lead in the record books. Currently he has 67 pins in his career.
SHER SOME LOVE, TAYLOR
Luke Sheridan has joined teammate Taylor Walsh in the top-ten all-time pins list. Sheridan moved into 10th place alone (32) on the all-time Indiana pins list with a pin of Boyce Cornwell (Gardner-Webb).
The senior has 11 pins thus far in the 2014-15 season. He only needs three more to jump into the top-ten single-season pins list. His 11 pins are tied for third in the Big Ten this season. He has an average pin time of 1:20, which is the best average in Division I for any wrestler with eight or more pins. It is the best in the Big Ten for wrestlers with seven or more pins.
SOUND SOPHOMORE
Nate Jackson is having an outstanding (redshirt) sophomore season -- he has earned podium spots in three tournaments. The 174-pounder was champion at the Keystone Classic (Penn.), runner-up at the Harold Nichols Open (Iowa State) and finished in eighth at the Midlands Championships (Northswestern).
In 15 out of 24 of Jackson's victories, he has won by at least five points (nine major decisions, one technical fall), outscoring opponents 184-65 in such matches.
In the national rankings, he is ranked as high as No. 13 (WIN Magazine) for the 174-pound weight class. He is also ranked No. 15 for the InterMat rankings.
