Danishek scores upset over No. 12 Griffin
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Another chapter unfolded in the storied wrestling rivalry between Indiana and Purdue on Friday evening in front of thousands at Purdue's Mackey Arena, the fourth dual between the teams in that setting. The Hoosiers (7-4, 0-2) came back from an early deficit to win four matches in a five-bout span, but the Boilermakers (7-2, 2-1) earned the final two matches for a 19-12 dual win.
Sophomore Jake Danishek (157) secured the Hoosiers' top performance of the evening just before the intermission, scoring his first career ranked victory in an upset over #12 Alex Griffin. Danishek (16-6) trailed 3-2 entering the third period, and exploded out of the down position for a reversal and four back points, earning a 9-3 win.
Another valiant late-match effort gave the Hoosiers their first dual points in the previous 149 lbs. bout. Senior Chris Perez (6-4) came back from a 2-0 first period deficit to have his hand raised with a 7-4 decision win. He regained the lead in the second with an escape and takedown, and followed in the third with a four-point nearfall to gain a comfortable winning margin.
Bryce Martin (165) came back after the midway break in thrilling fashion, winning the Hoosiers' third consecutive bout with a 5-2 decision over Dylan Lydy. Martin (12-3) led the match 3-2 in the waning seconds of the third period, bringing the crowd to their feet for a captivating conclusion. Martin fended off Lydy's shot and turned it into a takedown, giving Martin his fifth win in a row.
Martin's win tied the dual at 9-9, setting up a critical match between Devin Skatzka (174) and Jacob Morrissey. Skatzka had a 4-1 lead after the first period, but Morrissey found his second wind with seven points in the second, aiding a 10-4 win.

10-3 over Tanner Lynde. Jackson (21-2) scored seven points in the first two periods to pace the win, the 93rd victory of his career.
