A Look at the Big Green
Dartmouth will begin its season this weekend in an attempt to follow up last year's 20-6 record (11-2 at home) and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Last season in Bloomington, the Big Green edged IU, 4-3, with the Hoosiers getting wins from returnees Bennett Crane and Zac Brodney.
In the latest ITA rankings, Charlie Broom is No. 27 in singles and the Big Green have a doubles pair ranked No. 52.
Last Week Recap
The season couldn't start better for Indiana last weekend as it swept both Ball State and Toledo. Senior Antonio Cembellin took the top singles spot and claimed two straight set victories. The rest of the day saw Bennett Crane, Brandon Lam, Carson Haskins, Zac Brodney, Andrew Redding, Patrick Fletchall and Payam Ahmadi earning singles wins.
Cembellin Wins Athlete of the Week
After his performance in the opening weekend, Antonio Cembellin was named the Big Ten Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week by the conference office. He is the first to win the award since Zac Brodney last April.
Hoosiers in The Rankings
When the latest ITA Singles Rankings were released in November, the Hoosiers found themselves on their twice. Junior Bennett Crane was ranked No. 96 and junior Zac Brodney came in at No. 110 on the list.
Next Up
Next week, the Hoosiers will go west to Los Angeles to face UCLA and either San Diego or Mississippi for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
