Davis Leads the Hoosiers at the Crooked Stick Invitational

CARMEL, Ind. – After two rounds of the Crooked Stick Invitational, sophomore Mitch Davis leads the way for Indiana men's golf as he tied for 18th. The Hoosiers currently sit in 10th place as a team with the final round set for Tuesday morning.

CHIP-INS
• The first round was a shotgun start with round two starting immediately following its conclusion.
• Davis shot a 2-over-par in the first round before improving by one stroke to end the day tied for 18th at 3-over-par. In the opening round, he carded six birdies with four of those coming on the back nine. Round two saw him pick up three more birdies with just one bogey.
• Jack Sparrow and junior Ethan Shepherd currently sit tied for 27th at 4-over-par. Sparrow did hit for eagle once in each round, the only player in the field to card two eagles on the day. In the first round, Sparrow saved the best for last as he eagled hole No. 7, birdied No. 8 and parred the final two holes. In the second round, he started with an eagle on No. 11 and improved his round by four strokes. The eagle came on the second-longest hole of the course as the par-5 No. 11 measures 556 yards.
• Shepherd shot a 74 in both rounds, carding four birdies in each 18. In the opening round, the front nine was his strength as he shot 1-under-par. The second round was a similar story as he carded three birdies on the front nine and shot an even-36.
• Senior Brock Ochsenreiter's best showing came in the opening round as he carded a 3-over-par 75. In the second round, he ran into some trouble in the front nine but birdied three holes on the back nine to end the round with a 77. He sits tied for 48th at 8-over-par.
• Sophomore Harry Reynolds improved by four strokes in the second round as he is tied for 76th. He shot an 84 and 80, respectively.
• Freshmen Drew Giacchetto and Eric Berggren are competing in the event as individuals. Giacchetto sits tied for 57th as he shot a 78 in the opening round and a 76 in the second, which included four birdies. Berggren ended his day 21-over-par.
