
IU Co-Hosts 14-Team Field at the Crooked Stick Invitational

CARMEL, Ind. – Indiana Men's Golf returns to the Hoosier State this week to co-host the Crooked Stick Invitational with Purdue. The first round will tee of Monday at 9 a.m. as a shotgun start with the second round immediately following. The final round will tee off Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Tournament Notes
This year will mark the fifth Crooked Stick Invitational and the first since 2017, a year which saw the Hoosiers tie for seventh. Brock Ochsenreiter finished that event tied for 14th at 2-over-par, while Jake Brown recorded the best-finish ever for a Hoosier at the event as he tied for second place. Crooked Stick has been home to many big-name tournaments, including the 1991 PGA Championship and 2009 U.S. Senior Open. Most recently, the club hosted the 2016 and 2012 BMW Championships and will host the 2020 Western Amateur Championship.
This year's field includes 14 teams, including five that are ranked in this week's Golfweek College Top-50 Rankings (No. 25 Georgia, No. 27 Illinois, No. 39 Northwestern, No. 42 Vanderbilt and No. 48 Purdue).
Sparrow Posts Best Finish of the Season
Jack Sparrow earned the best finish of the season thus for a Hoosier at last week's Marquette Intercollegiate as he carded a 1-under-par to end the event tied for 12th. Sparrow improved in each round, saving his best for last as he shot a 2-under-par 70 on the final round.
Davis Earns Another Top-20 Finish
Sophomore Mitch Davis earned his second top-20 finish of the season at the Marquette Intercollegiate, carding a 2-over-par to tie for 19th. Through the first three events of the year, Davis is leading the team in scoring with a 73.34. Davis is coming off a freshman year that saw him post the second-best average ever for an Indiana freshman (73.27).

Indiana's team lineup this week is the same group that has competed in the first three tournaments of the season. Altogether, the five in the team lineup have combined for 302 career rounds.
Tournament No. 1 Recap – Windon Memorial
Indiana earned a top-10 finish at the first event of the year at Windon Memorial, highlighted by a top-20 outing from sophomore Mitch Davis, who tied for 16th. Davis led the field in par-3 scoring and bogeyed just one hole on the final day. Harry Reynolds (T30) and Jack Sparrow (T35) each carded a round of 69 in the event.
Tournament No. 2 Recap – Olympia Fields
The Hoosiers competed in the prestigious Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational amongst the nation's best Sept. 20-22. Ochsenreiter led the Indiana lineup as he moved up four spots on the final day to finish tied for 54th.
Tournament No. 3 Recap – Marquette Intercollegiate
Last time out, Indiana earned its best finish thus far as the Hoosiers came in fifth in the Marquette Intercollegiate. IU saw two finish in the top-20 with Jack Sparrow (T12, 1-under-par) and Mitch Davis (T19, 2-over-par).
