Bloomington, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team (4-2) won a close contest against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (2-3), 4-3, on Friday night in front of a standing room only crowd at the IU Tennis Center.

Indiana won the doubles point and the No. 1, 5, 6 singles spots to move to 3-0 at home.

Doubles remained close throughout play until Bennett Crane and Carson Haskins pulled away with a 6-3 win at the No. 2 spot. On No. 3, MTSU's pair did the same and won 6-4. At the top spot, Patrick Fletchall and Brandon Lam battled their opponents into a tiebreaker where they soared to a win, securing the doubles point for IU.

The Blue Raiders knotted the match when they won the No. 2 spot in convincing fashion. In the back end of the lineup, the Hoosiers got two wins to push their lead to 3-1. At No. 5, in his first college match, Vikash Singh won in straight sets. For his third win on the year, Andrew Redding also won in straight sets, at the No. 6 spot.

With the three remaining matches going to a third set and IU needing only one more win, No. 96 ranked Bennett Crane outlasted No. 119 ranked Gonzalo Morell Raschiatore in a thriller at the top spot, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4. Crane's win gave Indiana its fourth point and second straight win.

Up next, Indiana continues its homestand with two matches next week, one on Friday, Feb. 8 at 6 PM versus UCF and another on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 PM against Arizona State.
