Hoosiers Drop Match to Utah State, 4-1

Des Moines, Iowa – The Indiana men's tennis team (4-6) fell to the Utah State Aggies (8-4), 4-1, on Sunday afternoon inside the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

Antonio Cembellin won the only match for the Hoosiers at the No. 1 singles spot.

Doubles went the Aggies way after winning at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

Utah State climbed to a 2-0 lead when it took the No. 6 spot with a straight-set win. It upped its match lead to 3-0 with a victory at No. 5.

At the No. 1 spot, Antonio Cembellin won 6-1, 6-2. The senior from Spain now has five match wins on the season, all at No. 1 singles.

Over on the fourth court, Utah State clinched its eighth victory of the season with a 6-4, 6-4 win.

Although the match went unfinished, No. 111 ranked Bennett Crane was in a third set at the No. 2 spot after winning 6-4 in the second set.

Up next, IU begins Big Ten play when it hosts the Purdue Boilermakers inside the IU Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m.
