PREVIEW: Indiana Continues Home Stretch with Northwestern, Washington

Bloomington, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team (5-6, 1-0) will try to build off of last weekend's Big Ten opening win against Purdue when it hosts Northwestern and Washington.

The Hoosiers snapped a losing streak last weekend when they beat in-state rival Purdue, 4-2, for the third straight year. After falling in the doubles point, IU rebounded with wins from Antonio Cembellin (No. 1), Carson Haskins (No. 3), Andrew Redding (No. 5), Vikash Singh (No. 6).

Indiana has wins this year over Ball State, Toledo, Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee State, and Purdue but has dropped matches to Dartmouth, No. 7 UCLA, UCF, Arizona State, Drake, and Utah State.

• Before falling to Columbia last weekend in New York, the Wildcats were riding a six-match winning streak.
• Away from Evanston, the Wildcats are 1-5.
• Last season, IU fell on the road to NW, 4-2. Bennett Crane and Zac Brodney were apart of doubles teams that secured the first point.

• Washington will make a stop in Minnesota on the way to Bloomington to play the Golden Gophers. Before that match, the Huskies are 3-5 on the season and 0-3 on the road.
• The Huskies have victories over Portland, Liberty and last weekend beat San Diego State. They have fallen to Wisconsin, Michigan, Santa Clara, Utah State and Texas.
• In the latest ITA rankings, the doubles pair of Jack Davis and Piers Foley are ranked No. 28.
• The last time these two programs faced each other was Feb. 26, 2017 when IU knocked off the No. 32 ranked Huskies in Seattle for arguably the biggest win of the season.
