
Hoosiers Sweep Wisconsin During Second Day In Florida

LEESBURG, Fla. – Indiana Softball (3-1, 3-1 Big Ten) swept Wisconsin (2-2, 2-2 Big Ten) on the second day of competition in Florida. The Hoosiers won game one by a score of 5-4 before cruising to a 9-2 victory in the second game.
Game One: Indiana 5, Wisconsin 4
KEY MOMENTS
• Wisconsin struck first in the opening inning after a wild pitch and a home run to left center.
• Holding the Badgers scoreless for the next three innings, Bella Norton opened the hitting for the Hoosiers with a double in the fourth.
• Pinching running for Norton, Tatum Hayes was able to round the bases and score after Desiree Dufek grounded out to the shortstop with two outs.
• In the fifth, Tete Hart came in as a pinch hitter where she laid down a bunt and reached first. She would go on to steal second before Brittany Ford singled to left field.
• With runners on the corners, Taylor Lambert pinch ran for Ford and stole second to put two Hoosiers in scoring position.
• Grayson Radcliffe doubled to center that plated Hart to cut the Badgers lead in half. Gabbi Jenkins then put down a bunt that brought in Lambert to tie the game. Radcliffe would then give Indiana the lead after reaching home on a passed ball.
• Norton tallied her first RBI of the day with a bunt that scored Jenkins.
• In the sixth, Wisconsin singled to right field and advanced on the throw that plated two to cut into the Indiana lead, 5-4.
• Natalie Foor came in to pitch for the Hoosiers as Indiana was able to retire the next two batters to minimize the damage.
• With two Badgers on and one in scoring position, Emily Goodin returned to the contest to attempt the save. The next Wisconsin batter hit a pop-up to third before Goodin struckout the final batter looking. Indiana would take game by a score of 5-4.

• Freshman Amber Linton saw her first career innings in the circle for Indiana. Linton also saw her career win.
• Goodin earned her first save of the season, facing the final two batters of the game.
• Freshman Grace Lorsung knocked in her first career RBI Saturday night.
• Jenkins, Norton, Radcliffe, and Dufek also had an RBI to lead the Hoosiers.
• Four Hoosiers had multi-hit games; Jenkins (2), Norton (2), Radcliffe (2), and Hart (2).
• Indiana connected for nine hits compared to Wisconsin's six.
Game Two: Indiana 9, Wisconsin 2
KEY MOMENTS
• Wisconsin threatened in the first with runners on the corners and one out, Lorsung connected with Radcliffe to catch one runner stealing. Radcliffe then threw home back to Lorsung who tagged the runner at home for the double play.
• For the second straight game, a double down the first base line by Norton got the Hoosier offense going in the first. Pinch running, Juvia Davis was brought home by a Lorsung hit through the left side gap. Indiana led 1-0 at the end of the inning.
• The Badgers would score their first run in the second after a bad hop at second base.
• Lambert led off the third by beating out a grounder before Hart drove one up the middle off the pitcher's glove. Radcliffe hit a shot to left that plated Lambert and Hart but was tagged out in attempt to make it to third.
• Out to a 3-1 lead, Lorsung picked off her second runner of the night to get the final out of the third.
• Annika Baez got the Hoosier bats going in the bottom of the fourth with a hit to shallow center. Hayes would come in to pinch run for Baez. Norton put down a sacrifice bunt to put Hayes in scoring position. Pinch hitting, Ford hit a line drive up the middle to advance Hayes and Hayes reached home on a passed ball by Wisconsin's third basemen.
• With Brooke Benson in to pinch run for Ford who was on second, Benson stole third while Lambert was walked. A slap by Hart went through the right side which scored Benson and Lambert.
• The Hoosiers would tack on another run to take a 7-1 at the end of the fourth.
• In the top of the fifth, the Badgers added a run off a passed ball.
• Baez crushed a solo shot over the center field wall to make the score 8-2 Indiana in the bottom of the fifth.
• Indiana tacked on their final run in the bottom of the sixth.
• Wisconsin tried to mount a comeback after a solo homerun in the top of the seventh, but the Hoosier defense held up and preserved the 9-3 win.
NOTABLES
• Annika Baez hit her first home run of the season and 12th of her career.
• Freshman pitcher Amber Linton received her first career start and earned her second win of the season.
