Record 61 Hoosiers Earn Winter Academic All-Big Ten Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – 61 IU students who participate in intercollegiate athletics across five winter sports earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition, the Big Ten Conference announced Monday.
"To set another Academic All-Big Ten record is a tremendous accomplishment for our department, and I congratulate these 61 student-athletes for a remarkable achievement in the midst of some unconventional and challenging times," said IU Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Dolson. "We take tremendous pride in witnessing our student-athletes honored on the academic stage, and I applaud them, their families and our dedicated Academic Services staff led by Lorian Price on a job well done."
The 61 honorees are six more than the previous best for IU Athletics. Over the last six years the number has gone up from 48 to 61.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The conference office also awards Academic All-Big Ten distinction in the spring seasons and will present the Distinguished Scholar Award at the end of the academic year.
