BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana men's soccer (8-3-5, 3-1-3 B1G) took care of business against Division III opponent Trine (8-6-3, 3-2-2 MIAA) on Thursday (Oct. 27), earning a 3-0 victory on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Seven Hoosiers made their season debuts, with three also making their collegiate debuts. Redshirt freshman defender Sam Bennett, redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Austin Himebaugh and redshirt freshman midfielder Grant Yeagley each played their first-ever minutes in cream and crimson, while redshirt junior midfielder Luke Boha, redshirt senior midfielders Trey Kapsalis and Alex McGill and redshirt sophomore midfielder Emerson Nieto all saw their first action of the year.
KEY MOMENTS
• 21' – A Trine defender mishit a clearance on a cross from junior defender Lukas Hummel on the right wing, and the ball came to freshman forward Luka Bezerra. From about 16 yards, Bezerra let it bounce then hit a volley that kept rising as it crashed into the back of the net.
• 33' – Indiana had a numbers advantage in its attacking third after dispossessing the Thunder in midfield. Nieto pushed it ahead to Bezerra into a one-on-one, and the freshman unselfishly played it through to McGill on his left. McGill took a touch and finished to give IU a two-goal advantage.
• 48' – IU scored again three minutes into the second half. Senior forward Maouloune Goumballe and Nieto worked excellent combination play on the right wing, and Goumballe fed senior forward Karsen Henderlong, who played across the keeper and into goal.
NOTABLES
• Indiana is 6-1-2 at Bill Armstrong Stadium this season and 3-0-1 against in-state opponents.
• With Bezerra and McGill each tallying their first-career goals, Indiana has scored 31 goals from 14 unique goal scorers this season.

• Henderlong recorded his second goal of the season and No. 24 in his career. The senior has six points this season.
