IUSD Closes Fall at CBAC

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 7/10 Indiana swimming and diving will compete in its final meet of the fall when its hosts Cincinnati inside Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center Friday (Dec. 2) afternoon.
 
The Hoosiers will open the meet with a pre-meet ceremony. Starting at 1:45 p.m. ET, the ceremony will begin with the ring ceremony for IU's 2022 Big Ten Champion men's team as well as its NCAA individual national champions Brendan Burns and Tarrin Gilliland. Then, IU swimming and diving will celebrate the life of legendary diving coach Hobie Billingsley, who passed away at the age of 95 in July.
 
The competition portion of the meet will be streamed on the Big Ten Plus digital platform beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

HOOSIERS EARN THREE WEEKLY AWARDS FOR MIDSEASON PERFORMANCES
Indiana swimming and diving student-athletes secured three of the six Big Ten weekly awards handed out during the latest cycle on Wednesday (Nov. 23). Sophomores Quinn Henninger and Anna Peplowski and freshman Kristina Paegle each earned their second Big Ten weekly awards of the season for outstanding performances in IU's midseason meet at the Ohio State Fall Invitational.

HOOSIERS NAMED TO USA SWIMMING NATIONAL TEAM
Six athletes with ties to the Indiana swimming and diving program were named to USA Swimming's 2022-23 national team rosters in September. Of the six Hoosiers, five are breaststroke specialists, and, on the women's side, IU makes up three of the nine breaststroke selections. The selections include current Hoosiers Mariah Denigan, Mackenzie Looze and Josh Matheny as well as Indiana Swim Club athlete Tommy Cope, Lilly King and Annie Lazor.
