
Indiana Women’s Soccer Travels to St. Louis For NCAA Championship First Round

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's soccer (12-3-4, 6-2-2 B1G) will face the No. 6 seed Saint Louis in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 10 at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE NO. 6 BILLIKENS
• Saint Louis (17-2-2) posted a 9-0-1 record in winning the Atlantic 10 regular-season title.
• They are currently on a 10-game winning streak while also holding a 10-game shutout streak and a 16-game (14-0-2) unbeaten streak into the national tournament.
• Junior forward Emily Gaebe leads the offense with 15 goals, seven assists and 37 points.
• The Billikens lead the nation in goal differential (+57) and rank second in goals per game (3.19) and save percentage (.900), third in shutout percentage (.667) and eighth in goals against average (0.48).
• Senior goalkeeper Emily Puricelli has played in all 21 games between the posts and holds a .895 save percentage with 85 saves on the year. She has posted 17 victories this season with 10 shutouts.

• The Hoosiers continued to look for their first chance on goal out of the break. Senior midfielder Sofia Black opened the second half with an opportunity in the 47th minute. Once again, the shot would go just wide of the net.
• Penn State scored another goal in the 52nd minute off a second chance opportunity in the goalie box.
• Sophomore midfielder Olivia Rush had the Hoosiers first shot on goal in the 61st minute. She fired one from the midfield straight on the goal, but Penn State's graduate goalkeeper Katherine Asman Nittany Lions keeper would make the save.
• Graduate forward Paige Webber found an open look in the 78th minute on a pass from freshman defender Piper Coffield. Her attempt was shut down as Asman made another deflection.
• Black fired two shots on goal in the 82nd and 83rd minute but was unable to capitalize on either opportunity.
GERSTENBERG NAMED GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR
Junior goalkeeper Jamie Gerstenbeg is first ever Goalkeeper of the Year for the Hoosiers. The Indiana goalie was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team after her stellar performance between the posts this season. She has played in all 18 games, with a 0.63 goals against average and holds a .796 save percentage.
The Birkenwerder, Germany, native has 12 victories on the season and holds the single-season shutout record with 10. She leads the Big Ten in shutouts per game (10, .556), and holds the second-highest goals against average (11, .629). Gerstenberg also ranks fifth in saves with 43 on the year. Gerstenberg was also named to the All-Big Ten Third Team in 2022 and made the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2021.
ALL-B1G TEN TEAMS
Graduate forward Paige Webber joins Gerstenberg on the All-Big Ten First Team after leading the Hoosiers' offense this season. She has scored 12 goals, four assists combined for 28 points. Webber holds a .426 shots on goal percentage and has netted five game winning goals this season. Gerstenberg and Webber were also named to the Big Ten women's soccer Preseason Watch List. The two All-Big Ten First Team is the first since 2008 and the only the first time two Hoosiers have been named in the name season.
Freshman defender Piper Coffield has made a huge impact for the Hoosiers in her rookie season on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. She has collected three Big Ten Weekly Awards after aiding in the Hoosiers' 10 shutouts this season and scoring her first two goals off penalty kicks this season.
Sophomore defender Olivia Albert was one of 14 recipients of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. Albert has stepped up this season for the Hoosiers. A native of East Lansing, Mich., Albert has played in 15 matches this season helping the Hoosiers to shutout 10 opponents.
BEST B1G FINISH
• Indiana posted their best finish in the Big Ten regular season, only facing two losses.
• The Hoosiers totaled 20 points, passing the record of 19 that was set in the 2020-21 season.
• IU made their 16th Big Ten Tournament appearance and their third in the last five seasons.

• IU finished the regular season at No. 39 in the RPI standings with an overall 12-2-4 record and a 6-2-2 conference record.
• Posted the highest RPI since 2013.
