Indiana falls to No. 24 Northwestern on Friday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––––– Indiana Men's Tennis dropped a home match to No. 24 Northwestern on Friday afternoon, 5-1, at the IU Tennis Center.
The match started out strong for the Hoosiers, winning a very close doubles point. Indiana's Patrick Fletchall and Ilya Tiraspolsky won at No. 1 doubles, 6-4, before Northwestern evened the advantage by winning the No. 3 doubles match, 6-3.
Indiana's No. 2 doubles duo of freshmen Sam Landau and Luc Boulier dug deep and went down to the wire, picking up a close win, 7-6 (9-7).
In singles, Northwestern won at No. 6, 4, 1, 2 singles to close out the match and clinch the win.
Northwestern won the No. 2 and No. 5 singles, as well, to close out the day.
After today's match, Indiana's record falls to 11-7 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten.
Indiana will be back in action on Sunday, April 2 for two home matches. The Hoosiers will play No. 22 Illinois at noon and Saint Louis at 4:30 p.m.
