
Hoosiers Host No. 21 Maryland in Big Ten Home Opener

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Big Ten's perennial powerhouses are set for an early-season meeting as Indiana men's soccer (2-2-3, 1-0-0 B1G) hosts No. 21-ranked Maryland (3-1-3, 1-0-0 B1G) Friday (Sept. 20) night on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
IU's Big Ten home opener will kick off at 7 p.m. ET. Tickets are on sale online or at any Armstrong Stadium ticket window on matchday. Fans unable to attend the match can watch on the Big Ten Network.
Fans who show their ticket for Saturday's IU-Charlotte football game at Armstrong Stadium ticket windows will receive a $5 ticket. Additionally, IU athletics is offering free admission for Junior Hoosier Club members who show their JHC credential.
KICKING OFF
• Both Indiana and Maryland won their Big Ten openers. IU brought home the three points from a visit to Rutgers thanks to an 87th-minute Tommy Mihalic winner.
• Indiana will look to improve on a frustrating 1-1 draw with Evansville Tuesday, having outshot the Purple Aces 20-6. IU men's soccer head coach Todd Yeagley has said that he is largely pleased with his team's performances, though results have not yet swung their way.
• Friday's matchup features two of the winningest head coaches in Big Ten history. Trailing only longtime IU head coach Jerry Yeagley (.821; 1973-2003), Maryland head coach Sasho Cirovski (.692) and Todd Yeagley (.688) rank second and third.
ABOUT THE TERRAPINS
• Maryland is coming off a 3-0 victory over No. 8-ranked Wisconsin. The Terrapins boast a 3-1-3 record, with their only loss coming against No. 16 Georgetown in August.
• The Terps are led by 32nd-year head coach Sasho Cirovski, who has compiled a 432-173-70 record in College Park and a 458-185-76 career record in 34 seasons as a head coach.
• Nine different Terrapins have combined for 13 goals this fall. Graduate transfer forward Max Rogers is Maryland's leading contributor with one goal and five assists.

• Since it joined the Big Ten Conference in 2014, Maryland has challenged IU as the second-winningest program, by percentage (.722 to .611).
