No. 6 Indiana Hosts Evansville in Non-conference Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 6 Indiana University men's soccer team (8-2-3) will take on the Evansville Aces (2-9-1) in the team's final non-conference match of the 2019 regular season. The in-state matchup is lated for a 7 p.m. ET start on Oct. 22 at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

SETTING THE SCENE
• The Hoosiers enter the midweek contest having suffered the team's first Big Ten Conference regular-season loss since a 1-0 overtime loss against Ohio State on Oct. 10, 2015 with a 3-0 defeat at No. 25 Maryland.
• Last season, the Hoosiers won both the Big Ten regular season championship (15th time) and Big Ten Tournament championship (13th time) in the same season for the first time since 2006.
• Also, IU advanced to the College Cup for the second-straight year and for a NCAA-record 20th time in program history.
• Indiana earned the No. 2 overall for the 2018 NCAA Tournament, marking the 14th time in the last 16 years since the current seeding format began in 2003 that IU earned a top-16 seed.
• The berth for the Hoosiers was the team's 32nd-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament and the 43rd overall in the program's history.
SCOUTING THE ACES
• The Evansville Aces will head to Bloomington with an overall record of 2-9-1 and a Missouri Valley Conference record of 0-6-0. The Aces have failed to register a result in seven-straight outings dating back to a 1-0 victory over UNC Asheville on Sept. 14.
• The Aces have struggled on the offensive side of the pitch this season. UE has tallied 10 goals through the first 12 games of the season for an average of 0.83 goals per match. That figure ranks 175th nationally.
• Evansville is winless away from McCutchan Stadium this season with a record of 0-4-1 on the road.
• Senior Jesse Stafford-Lacey leads the Aces in total scoring with seven points and is tied for the team-lead with three goals. Each of his three goals came in the first three games of the season. Sophomore Ryan Harris has also converted three goals this season.
• The Evansville defense is led in the net by senior goalkeeper Frederik Reimer. He has surrendered 22 goals in 12 starts (1.82 goals per game) and holds a save percentage of 0.662 after turning away 43-of-65 shots on frame this season.
• Evansville was selected fifth in the preseason Missouri Valley Conference poll according to the league's head coaches.
