Hoosiers Travel to Alex Wilson Invitational for Final Regular Season Meet

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.  – The Indiana track and field team will send the jumpers, throwers, pole vaulters and the distance groups to the Alex Wilson Invitational for the Hoosier's final meet of the regular season.

Last Time Out:
Junior mid-distance runner Camden Marshall broke a 19-year-old men's mile record (3:56.44) set by Sean Jefferson in 2005 after running a time of 3:55.96 in the final event of day one at the Windy City Invitational. He now leads the Big Ten in the Mile and holds the 14th fastest time in the nation.
 
Austin Haskett won the 3000 Meter race with a personal best time of 7:51.45 to move into the program's top-five. He also holds the 17th fastest time in the nation. Skylar Stidam also earns a podium finish in third-place with a personal best time of 7:55.14 to move into the programs top-10 list.
 
Mariah Wehrle also had a great performance in the 3000 Meters. She finished on the podium in second place with a season best performance of 9:26.29.
 
Nathan Stone earned another win for the Hoosiers after he cleared a height of 5.41m/17-09.00 to win the pole vault. Riley Johnston also had himself a day on the runway. He vaulted a personal best height of 5.16m/16-11.00 to win the event.
 
Jessica Mercier led the women with a third-place finish in the event with a leap of 4.19m/13-09.00.
 
In the circle, Hunter Smith throws the weight a distance of 18.25m/59-10.50 for a new personal best.
 
The Hoosier Lineup:
Distance and Mid-Distance:
The mid-distance crew will enter seven into the 800-meter race. Amelia Dodds, Lily Myers and Maddie Russin will race on the women's side while Jaylen Castillo, Keelan Grant, Martin Segurola and Keefer Soehngen look to improve their time in the final meet of the regular season.
 
The men will run six in the Mile including Owen Forberg, Brayden Henkle, Garrett Hicks, Aidan Lord, Andrew Mangum, Cole Raymond, Nolan Satterfield. Mariah Wehrle will race on the women's side.
 
Six Hoosiers in the Mile group will also double-up in the 3000 Meters including, Forberg, Henkle, and Hicks. Claire Overfelt, Emma Everhart-Deckard and Tori Schmidt will run the distance for the women.
Castillo, Grant, Satterfield and Soehngen will run the 4x400 while Haskett, Marshall, Raymond and Nico Colchico will run the Distance Medley Relay.
 
Throws:
After competing in the Windy City last weekend, Bridget Beyer, Hunter Smith and Tyler Reyna will throw the weight this weekend.
 
Jumps:
After competing in the Tyson Invitational last weekend, the the women's jump squad is back in action with Paola Fernandez-Sola and Serena Bolden in the Long Jump. Mahogany Jenkins will be the lone competitor in the Triple Jump.
 
Pole Vault:
Jessica Mercier, Nathan Stone, Tyler Carrel, Riley Johnston and Tyler Sierks will return to the runway.
