Hoosiers Drop One On the Road

LINCOLN, Neb. - Indiana fell to the eighth ranked Cornhuskers on Sunday, 33-6. Hoosier wrestlers who left Lincoln with a victory are Taylor Walsh (165) and Nate Jackson (174).
Walsh matched-up with Austin Wilson in the 165-pound bout. After a scoreless first period, Walsh earned two escapes and takedown to take the lead 4-2 heading into the third period. That was how the score would finish after, just like the first period, neither wrestler scored a point in the third. Walsh now has 120 career victories to his name which puts him alone in seventh on the all-time Indiana list.
In the 174-pound match, Nate Jackson won on a 6-1 decision. In the first period, Jackson got a takedown and Wilbourn escaped to bring the score to 2-1. Jackson chose to start the second down and quickly earned an escape point. Before the second round was finished, the redshirt sophomore got his second takedown of the bout. The third period was scoreless and Jackson earned a bonus point for riding time.
The Hoosiers will be back home on Friday, February 13 to face Michigan State in the University Gymnasium (6 pm).
