IU Excellence Academy
The Excellence Academy is a 66,575 square foot facility located at the south end zone of Memorial Stadium. Construction will be completed in the summer of 2018. On the inside, multi-purpose facilities will provide comprehensive physical and mental healthcare for IU student-athletes.

IU Athletics Honored Class of 2018
Indiana University Athletics honored 87 students who are eligible to graduate in May/August 2018 with a commencement ceremony at Henke Hall of Champions.
Hoosiers hosted Big Ten Cross Country Championships
The Hoosiers hosted the Big Ten Cross Country Championships this past October. Redshirt junior Katherine Receveur won the women's individual title, while sophomore Ben Veatch was the highest finisher for the Hoosier men (fourth place). Both the women's and men's teams placed seventh.

IU hosted Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships
Indiana University track and field hosted the Big Ten Outdoor Championships for the first time since 2010. Katherine Receveur topped off her distance triple crown when she took the gold in the 5000m, and junior Willie Morrison won the shot put title with a new school record mark. Hoosiers Daniel Kuhn and Cooper Williams finished second and third respectively in the men's 800m with identical school-record-breaking times of 1:46.06. Overall, the Hoosiers won 17 medals (two gold, seven silver and eight bronze) that weekend.

Hoosiers Advanced to Regional Final
In the Regional Final game one against Texas A&M, IU scored nine runs in the first inning alone to take an early lead. A&M battled back, but failed to catch the Hoosiers who captured the 9-7 win. In game two against Texas, the game was tied in the 6th inning, but a game-winning hit by Texas ended their season in the Regional Finals. This was the 5th time in six years that Indiana made the NCAA tournament.

Jeff Mercer, former Wright State baseball head coach will be taking over for the Hoosiers after winning the Coach of the Year title this past season. His strength in recruiting and development will be a huge gain for the program. Mercer added Dan Held, Justin Parker, Casey Dykes, and Scott Rolen to his staff. The Hoosiers also sent farewell wishes to former coach Chris Lemonis who accepted a position with Mississippi State.
Men's Basketball
Crossroads Classic OT Victory
Indiana men's basketball pulled off a thrilling win in overtime against Notre Dame in the Crossroads Classic game in Indianapolis. The win gave Archie Miller his first big win since taking over for the Hoosiers. Juwan Morgan and Robert Johnson combined for a total of 54 points.

Johnson tied Program Record
Senior Robert Johnson helped lead the Hoosiers to a victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes with his nine three-pointers. Johnson tied the school record for three-point baskets made in a game held by Rod Wilmont and Matt Roth. Johnson finished with a career high of 29 points.
Morgan earned second-team All-Big Ten honors
Junior forward Juwan Morgan was awarded second-team All-Big Ten honors by the coaches and media. Morgan was also the most improved scorer within the Big Ten averaging nine points more overall compared to last season.

Hoosiers Crowned WNIT Champions
The IU women's basketball team capped off its season with a victory over Virginia Tech, winning its first WNIT title. Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall was packed out with program-record 13,007 people. Tournament MVP Tyra Buss led the team with 16 points.

4OT win against Michigan St.
No. 7 Indiana battled against Michigan State in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. After four overtimes, the Hoosiers eventually prevailed over the No. 10 Spartans. Amanda Cahill's 38 points-- including the two game-winning free throws-- set a new career-high and program record for most points in a Big Ten Tournament game.

Senior Day Victory
The Hoosiers ended their final home game of the regular season with a strong finish, topping Nebraska 83-75. Amanda Cahill and Tyra Buss finished with a combined 53 points on their Senior Day.
Field Hockey
Shutout Win
Indiana upset No. 15 Wake Forest 1-0 on neutral turf. Sheridan Weiss provided the game-winner in the 59th minute, while Katie Johnson made six saves in her first career shutout win.
Hat Trick led Hoosiers to Win
Indiana escaped Villanova with a 4-3 win, led by Ciara Girouard's first career hat trick. Girouard scored twice in the second half, providing the game-winner in the 63rd minute, while Maddie Latino opened her season account to break the first half tie.
Comeback OT Win
Indiana rallied for a 3-2 comeback win in overtime against Miami (OH) at home. Maddie Latino scored a hat trick, the first of her career, including the 75th-minute sudden victory goal in overtime.
Football
Coach Allen Got First Win
Indiana Football head coach Tom Allen secured his first win on the road against Virginia. Redshirt freshman quarterback Peyton Ramsey accounted for over two-thirds of his team's 318 total yards. Fifth-year senior and kicker Griffin Oakes surpassed IUFB alumnus Mitch Ewald after making his 54th field goal of his career.

Senior Day Shutout
With its 41-0 victory over Rutgers, Indiana posted its first Big Ten shutout since Oct. 30, 1993, a 10-0 win over No. 22 Michigan State. The Hoosiers recorded their second shutout of 2017 after topping Charleston Southern 27-0. The last time they blanked two opponents in one season came back in 1993 when they held No. 22 Michigan State, Northwestern and Toledo scoreless.
Men's Golf
Brown Birdied Last Hole at NCAA Bryan Regional
Redshirt junior Jake Brown closed out the NCAA Bryan Regional by hitting a 4-iron from 216 yards to setup a final birdie that put him at 1-under par for the tournament and a tie 14th in his NCAA postseason debut. Brown had an overall score of 215, the best by an IU golfer in NCAA postseason play since current assistant coach Corey Ziedonis shot 213 at the 2011 regional.

Parsons broke program record
Freshman Mary Parsons broke the school record at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational with six birdies. Parsons finished the tournament eighth overall and helped the Hoosiers finish seventh in the tournament.

Harper led team at Fresno State
Erin Harper won her first career medalist honor and aided Indiana in finishing second overall at the Fresno State Classic. Harper added an additional four birdies to go along with her total of 12 for the tournament.

Harper to the NCAA Championships
Junior Erin Harper advanced to the NCAA Championships after tying for seventh at the Madison Regionals. Harper made the first individual appearance for IU Women's Golf since 1989.

2v4 Helped Hoosiers Place Fifth at Big Ten Championships
The Second Varsity Four surpassed its number six seed and finished third place in its race. The First Varsity Eight battled their way to a fifth place finish in the final race of the day with a time of 6:30.742, just two seconds behind Wisconsin in fourth place. The Second Varsity Eight also finished fifth in their race. Sophomore Antonia Frappell was named to first All-Big Ten team and Senior Hilary Shinnick on the second team.

Hoosiers Became Title Contenders
The IU men's soccer team earned a place in the NCAA College Cup Championship match with a 1-0 victory over No. 3 North Carolina in the national semifinals. Andrew Gutman scored the match-winner off a corner kick in the 50th minute for the Hoosiers.

Hoosiers advanced to the College Cup
Playing in front of a raucous crowd of 5,450 fans at Armstrong Stadium, the No. 2-ranked Hoosiers advanced past the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans in a penalty kick shootout to earn the program's NCAA-record 19th College Cup. Tied up at 1-1 after double overtime of the NCAA quarterfinals, freshman goalkeeper Trey Muse came up with big save after big save for IU, helping the Hoosiers win the shootout, 3-2.

Lillard and Toye signed MLS contracts
After a historic season, two Hoosiers moved on to the MLS. Grant Lillard signed a Homegrown Contract with the Chicago Fire, while Mason Toye was drafted No. 7 overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by Minnesota United FC after signing a Generation Adidas contract with the league.
Women's Soccer
Maya Piper scored the game winning goal at No. 23 SMU to give the Hoosiers their first ranked victory since 2010. Piper's goal in the 80th minute secured the 1-0 road win.
Kopel Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week
Freshman Bethany Kopel was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after recording 17 saves in 200 minutes against Iowa and Nebraska on October 17th. They went 1-0-1 on the weekend, and Kopel recorded a career-high twelve saves vs. Iowa.
11 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars
The Hoosiers set a new program record with 11 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars, the most of any women's soccer programs in the conference. Requirements include a 3.7 GPA and sophomore standing in the classroom. Additionally, four members were awarded for their perfect 4.0 GPAs throughout the academic year.
Softball
Hoosiers Recorded Best Finish Since 2011
After a Big Ten Tournament run to the semifinals, the farthest the team has advanced since 2006, IU ended their season with their best record since 2011 with a 17-6 conference finish, and taking 3rd place in the Big Ten. The push to the semis was backed by Taylor Uden's walk-off homerun vs. Illinois in the tournament quarterfinals where the Hoosiers took the victory 2-1. This tallied seven home runs on the season for Uden.
Hoosiers Swept No. 18 Ohio State
In their Big Ten Opener, the Hoosiers took all three games of the homestand over no. 18 ranked Ohio State. This strong win would lead to a total of five conference sweeps throughout the regular season, matching the number of sweeps from 2011.
Taylor Uden's Walk-off sends IU to Big Ten Tournament Semifinals
Taylor Uden hit a walkoff home run in the bottom of the 7th inning against Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals. Uden's home run help to send the Hoosiers to their first tournament semifinals since 2006. That tallied up for seven home runs on the season for Uden.
Men's Swimming and Diving
Historic showing at NCAA Championships
The Hoosiers finish third overall at the NCAA Championships, the best finish for the program in 43 years.The top-10 finish for the Hoosiers at the NCAA Championships is the sixth in the last seven years. Over the course of NCAA Championships, the Hoosiers had 12 individuals earn a total of 42 All-America honors - the most in program history in 44 years since the team tallied 50 in 1974. Indiana swept the CSCAA Division I Coach of the Year awards, as Ray Looze was named Swimming Coach of the Year and Drew Johansen was named Diving Coach of the Year.
Hoosiers won four titles at NCAAs
Indiana won four NCAA titles at the 2018 NCAA Championships - the most for the program since 1973. Michael Hixon won the 1-meter dive, while Ian Finnerty swept the breaststroke events, becoming the first man in IU history to win both the 100 and 200 breast crowns in one season. The Hoosiers also won the national title in the 400 medley relay, as the team of Gabriel Fantoni, Finnerty, Vini Lanza and Blake Pieroni won the program's first relay title since 1977.

Back-to-back Big Ten Champions
The Hoosiers won back-to-back Big Ten Championships for the first time since 1983-85 in 2018, earning the program's 26th title. For the week, IU won a total of 24 medals - 14 gold, seven silver and three bronze. Indiana also won four of the five relays at the Big Ten Championships for a second-straight year - a program first. The 14 league crowns are the most for the team since also winning 14 in 1975. Vini Lanza was named Swimmer of the Championships for the second-straight year after setting a Big Ten record with seven gold medals over the course of week. Michael Hixon was named Diver of the Championships for the second year in a row after winning the 1-meter dive and taking silver in the 3-meter.

King Stayed Perfect in Breaststroke events at NCAAs
Indiana's Lilly King made it 6-for-6 in the breaststroke events at the NCAA Championships, winning her third-straight NCAA crowns in both the 100 and 200 breast. King's six NCAA titles are the most for any woman in Big Ten history. In both of her title-winning swims, King set the fastest time in history in both events.

Third-straight top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships
The Hoosier women's swim and dive team placed eighth at the 2018 NCAA Championships, marking the team's third-straight top-10 finish - a first for the team since accomplishing the feat from 2008-10. The top-10 finish is the ninth in school history. At the NCAA Championships, the Hoosiers had 11 individuals earn a total of 21 All-America honors, marking the seventh time in the last 10 seasons that Indiana has had 20 or more All-America accolades.

Tennis Center Gifted with New Technology
Indiana University Tennis Center member, Jim Williams, helped equip Bloomington's indoor tennis facility with state-of-the-art live streaming, video and tennis analytics technology from PlaySight Interactive. The new equipment provides baseline cameras and replay abilities, and tracks different game variables to provide analytics. Williams wanted both the men's and women's teams, as well as local members, to benefit from this technology.

Hoosiers Start Undefeated at ITA Kick-off Weekend
Antonio Cembellin led the Hoosiers to a 4-0 start on their season after capturing doubles and singles wins to push the team ahead of SMU. Raheel Manji and Keivon Tabrizi also contributed to the clinching the win in the tournament.

Indiana Finished Fourth in Big Ten Standings
The No. 46 Hoosiers finished fourth in the overall conference rankings with a record of 15-12 after a stretch of Big Ten tournament play in Iowa City. The team defeated No. 31 Minnesota and No. 46 Wisconsin, then went on to win five of the last six regular season matches. This earned them a fourth-seed finish.

Hoosiers Captured Best Regular Season Record in Years
The women's tennis team finished 17-10 going into the B1G Tournament, their best since the 2013-14 season. Backed by Xiwei Cai's and Madison Appel's singles victories, the Hoosiers clinched their regular-season finale at Rutgers.

For the first time in five years, IU kicked off its season undefeated at 8-0. This unblemished mark included sweeps over Butler, Cleveland State, Eastern Illinois and Wright State.

Team Traveled to Riley Hospital for Visit
The Hoosiers traveled to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis to visit with the kids, set up games, and make "a big impact on their everyday lives," according to Appel. The girls were excited about the opportunity to make a difference as a team and hope to return for another visit in the future.
Hoosiers Swept the Mile at Indoor Big Ten Championships
Led by redshirt sophomore Kyle Mau, the Hoosiers completed the 1-2-3 sweep of the mile at the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships. Redshirt freshman Teddy Browning took home the silver medal, while redshirt junior Joe Murphy rounded out the top three. In addition to his Big Ten title, Mau also ran a sub-four minute mile (3:59.15) earlier in the season.
Kuhn Completed the 3-peat at Indoor Big Ten Championships
Senior Daniel Kuhn took his third straight victory in the 600m finishing with a time of 1:17.14 at the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships. Kuhn also holds the school record in this event with a time of 1:15.23.

Morrison Won at Outdoor Big Ten Championships with New School Record
Junior Willie Morrison won his first outdoor Big Ten shot put title in dramatic fashion with a toss of 20.22m (66' 4.25"). His mark also broke his own school record, and he now holds the top seven marks in school history.
Women's Track & Field
Receveur Completed the Big Ten Distance Triple Crown
Redshirt junior Katherine Receveur took gold in the 5000m at the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships for her fourth Big Ten title of 2017-18. She also claimed the Big Ten cross country title and the 5000m title at the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships to round out the triple crown.

DMR Placed at NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships
For the first time in school history, IU earned First-Team All-American honors in the women's distance medley relay. The team consisting of Brenna Calder, Kelsey Harris, Natalie Price and Katherine Receveur placed fourth with a new school record time of 10:54.93.

Allen Crowned Penn Relays Champion, 4x8 team Broke Record
Junior Maggie Allen became the first Hoosier to win the 3000m at the historic Penn Relays, finishing with an outdoor personal best time of 9:16.20. That time is the second-fastest in school history. Also, the 4x800m relay team consisting of Brenna Calder, Kelsey Harris, Joely Pinkston and Kendell Wiles shattered the school record by over 10 seconds with a time of 8:25.79.

Three-time Invitational Champs
The Hoosiers kicked off their season by taking home three invitational titles, going undefeated through their first nine games. This 9-0 start for the second straight season marks the first time ever that the Hoosiers have accomplished back-to-back seasons beginning with an undefeated record. Elizabeth Asdell, Deyshia Lofton and Meaghan Koors all earned Tournament MVP honors.

Wilkinson Family back New Arena
IU graduate Jay Wilkinson pledged to donate $10 million in funds toward the new, multi-use indoor arena. This will become the new home of volleyball and wrestling, bringing the teams closer to the other athletic facilities on campus. Wilkinson has been a long-time supporter of IU Athletics and is strongly contributing to the IU Bicentennial Campaign. For his generosity, the facility will be named Wilkinson Hall and plans to open for the upcoming season.

Hoosiers Hired Steve Aird as New Head Coach
Steve Aird is fired up and ready to create an electric atmosphere for Hoosier volleyball fans in the upcoming season. After turning the Maryland Terrapins team into a winning program, Aird has already received honors at Indiana with his recruiting abilities, earning Highest Honorable Mention from PrepVolleyball.com for the 2018 signing class. He has coined "The New IU" as the team's motto going into the next season with a new head coach and a new facility.
Water Polo
Williams' four goals led Hoosiers to upset
The Hoosiers topped No. 14 UC Santa Barbara at home in front of a raucous crowd at Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center. Mollie Williams scored four goals to lead the way, but freshman Jessica Rodriguez netted the decisive goal in the fourth quarter. Goalkeeper Jessica Gaudreault made 10 saves with three steals.
Hoosiers upset No. 10 UC Davis
Indiana upset No. 10 UC Davis, 8-5, at the Santa Clara Invitational. Kelly Matthews netted a hat trick while the Hoosiers stuffed their defensive end, forcing 10 steals with five power play kills. Gaudreault again registered 10 saves.
Kozokar's hat trick led Hoosiers over Harvard
Indiana beat No. 22 Harvard 7-6 in Harvard's home pool. In their second one-goal win over the Crimson this season, Kozokar scored a hat trick as the Hoosiers' found their ninth ranked win of the year.
Wrestling
Weaver placed second at Midlands
Cole Weaver (r-Jr., 141 lbs.) earns a runner-up finish at the 55th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships. Weaver went 5-1 on the weekend for the highest tournament podium finish of his collegiate career.

Conley notched first career B1G win
Buddy Conley earned his first career Big Ten dual win in front of his fellow ROTC cadets at University Gymnasium. The crowd cheered Conley on his way to a 3-2 decision over Michigan State's Shawn Shadaia.
Four qualified for NCAA Championships
Indiana qualified four wrestlers to compete at the 2018 NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. Cole Weaver (141) and Devin Skatzka (174) earned at-large selections for their efforts during the regular season while Elijah Oliver (125) and Bryce Martin (165) battled for qualifying spots at the Big Ten Championships.
